Python Job: Database Administrator

As a database administrator at Expandi, you will face many challenges! From optimizing queries on a weekly basis, to projects like out scaling our 3+ TB Postgres database. to monitoring and guiding dev team on a daily base.

Job responsibilities

• Install, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL & MySQL software

• Implement monitoring and alerting

• Implement backup and recovery processes

• Provide system and SQL performance tuning and assist in business process

integration with various data sources

• Fulfills user requests ranging from access control, backup, restore, refresh to nonproduction to performance tuning.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors

• Be available for on-call support as needed

Skills and qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL & MySQL Database Administration/ Engineering

• Bachelor degree in computer science, or information technology, or other related field of study

• Has strong Python programming skill and be able to develop DBA applications for system automation and integration

• Has hands-on experience with Python multiprocessing, Django web framework and Celery A-sync framework is a big plus

• Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts

• Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance

• Expertise in SQL
